3 Reasons Why You Must Self Host Your WordPress Site

Self Host Wordpress

whichHaving a WordPress site these days is a necessity in marketing a business online. The sad thing is that a majority of people that go out there and start a website for these reasons get a “free” website that anyone can just sign up for and use. Now there is nothing wrong with this but to get real long term stable results from your marketing efforts then you really should get a WordPress site that you self host. And why would this be something that’s important? Let me share 3 reasons why.

We’ll start off with the first reason you want to have a WordPress site that you self host, the “Look and Feel” of the site. When you decide to get a free website you have very little power to the actual layout or theme of the blog. The WordPress site creators have put together a set number of layouts that you can pick from and that’s it.

You want a website that is going to reflect you and your business.

Compare this to when you have a self hosted WordPress that you can do almost anything that you want to it. If you want it a different color, or different shape, or bigger banner, or anything, it can be done. Seriously, there is already millions of different layouts out there that you can choose from to use. And even better, if you want something and you can’t seem to find it anywhere, just hire a coder and they’ll be able to make it for you.

With a self host WordPress site you actually have an unlimited number of possibilities for the “Look and Feel” of your site which is very important as you will soon see.

The second thing that we’re going to talk about is “Professionalism”. Having a free site may not be as professional as you need it to be. People are looking up information on whatever it is that they are looking for and when they hit a site they want it to look good.

Now yes, the free platforms look good but it shows that they’re free. And from the eyes of a perspective buyer to your business, seeing a free site means that this business might not be doing so well if they can’t pay for a site of their own.

Most people that I’ve met like doing business with someone that’s going to be around for a while. Now if your site is free, it kind of looks like you’re not really going to be there for the long haul and they might not buy from you.

keep-calm-you-are-in-control-6The final and really the most important reason has to do with “Control”. When you use a free blog platform the owners of that platform have full and complete control over what is written on your site. So if you write something or do something that they do not like, they can just delete your site. If this happens then everything that you would have done to build your website would be gone and you would have wasted a lot of time and energy.

But by having your own WordPress site that you self host, no one can shut it down. You have total control over what you say and what you do. And if the worst case your hosting company doesn’t want to host your site for some reason and wants to take away your hosting, you can just move the site to another hosting company.

Remember, having total control over what happens on your site is very important. This means that you get to say anything that you want, write anything you want, and put up anything that you want.

As you get your website up and running, make sure that you spend the little bit of cash and get a self hosted WordPress site. In the long run you will be grateful that you did because you will have control over it and since you’re putting all this time and energy into it, you should have full control shouldn’t you?
